Microwave Ground Veal Stuffed Sweet Green Peppers







1 pound [454 g] ground veal

1 cup [250 mL] minute rice

1 teaspoon [5 mL] Worcesteshire sauce

2 slices white bread, crusts removed and crumbled

1/2 teaspoon [2.5 mL] oregano

Salt and pepper, to taste

1 [14-ounce / 398-mL] can stewed tomatoes

4 large sweet green peppers

Any desired grated cheese, to taste [optional]







Into a glass bowl, mix together ground veal, stewed tomatoes, minute rice, Worcestershire sauce, oregano, salt and pepper.

Microwave on 'HIGH' for 5 minutes.

Crumble the meat before mixing in stewed tomatoes.

Microwave on 'HIGH' for 5 minutes.

Mix in rice and white bread crumbs.

Cover with al foil; leave to rest for 5 minutes, then mix together all the ingredients.

While mixture is resting, half sweet green peppers lengthwise; remove membranes and seed peppers.

Evenly stuff sweet green pepper halves with ground veal mixture.

Sprinkle stuffed sweet peppers with grated cheese if desired.

Arrange stuffed sweet pepper halves all around a microwave-safe bacon sheet.

Microwave on 'MEDIUM' for 9 to 11 minutes.

Leave to rest for 5 minutes, before serving.
