Bestselling autobiography Railway Man

Watch Frozen Online Have you ever heard of the Death Railway? It was a train line alternately known as the Thai-Burma railway, which was created to aid the Japanese in World War II. This transit track earned its ugly because of how it was built - namely by 60,000 prisoners of war, captured by Japanese forces. The estimates of men who died in the construction of the Death Railway are said to be more than 12,000, But one who lived is Eric Lomax, the hero of Railway Man, a historical drama starring Colin Firth and Nicole Kidman.

Watch 47 Ronin Online Walt Disney Home Entertainment has also released the extras for the set, and there will be quite a few bonus features for Blu-ray combo pack purchasers. This is a move in the right direction for the company, as buyers frequently have had to purchase Blu-ray 3D copies in order to get all of the extras in the past, much to the chagrin of non-3D TV owners. DVD buyers look as if they will be getting the short end of the stick, while Digital copies will also sport a healthy number of extras. With the latter, it should be noted that different Digital retailers will offer different bonus features. While that might be a disappointing marketing move for some, it may not matter to those who are less interested in extras.

Watch Anchorman 2 The Legend Continues Online The Railway Man's US release date has not yet been announced, but if this trailer can be trusted it will be coming soon. If you haven’t gotten the chance to see Disney’s latest charmer, yet, Frozen tells a story that’s a little outside-the-box for the animation company. Sure, there are handsome princes, angelic-looking princesses, and even a castle, but at its heart, Frozen is less about romantic match-ups and more about two sisters learning to love one another and get along. After adding in a sprinkle of fabulous comedic voicework by Josh Gad and a few lovely musical numbers, including the now-famous "Let it Go," Disney has found an extremely lucrative recipe. The film made over three hundred million dollars domestically and then more than doubled that money worldwide. No doubt the company is hoping to add a lot to that total with its home entertainment marketing efforts, and Disney has put together a nice-looking Blu-ray combo pack and more for the release.

Watch MAMA Online Of course, if they wanted to make a fully fictional film where they set Pryor as the President of the United States, I’m all about that, too. Oh wait, he already did that. Aside from showcasing some truly tense moments and an intriguing ensemble cast, the trailer up top appears to reflect a movie more in line with what Sean reported from The Railway Man's world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival last fall. While the premise would seem to suggest it is primarily Eric's story, Sean was surprised to find much of the screentime is dedicated to Mrs. Lomax and her quest to help her husband heal.

Watch One Direction This is Us Online But seriously, I’d rather see some terrible-looking younger age makeup slapped on Murphy, because this is obviously the role the man has been destined to play for decades. Hear him tell it himself in the NSFW clip from Raw below. While any biopic about such a talented and clever performer would be an interesting watch, this still-untitled project has Richard’s widow Jennifer Pryor on board as a producer, and she supplied TWC with over 50 pages of Pryor’s journals, which will certainly add a personal touch that would be impossible to duplicate. There’s nobody out there like Richard Pryor, and if Daniels does indeed head this film, I hope he remembers that.

Watch Insidious 2 Online And while the role of director is undoubtedly an important piece of this puzzle, the real kicker is going to be hiring the right actor to imbue the right amount of frankness and legitimacy within the role of the legendary comic. The three actors currently being considered are no surprises. THR reports the frontrunners are Eddie Murphy – who has been rabid for this role for years – Marlon Wayans, and Michael B. Jordan, who recently delivered a winning performance in TWC’s otherwise ordinary tragi-drama Fruitvale Station. Wayans is apparently just the right age for the role, as the film will center on Pryor during the heyday of his 30s, but Jordan’s superior talents as an actor may win him the part, which means we’ll get a lot of terrible-looking age makeup.

Watch Ender's Game Online The Weinsteins were behind Lee Daniels’ The Butler, fighting for it during that awkward legal suit over the film’s title. Allowing the heavy hand of Daniels to handle the tumultuous events in Pryor’s life is seemingly controversial in and of itself, as one never knows whether they’ll get the Precious Daniels or the Paperboy Daniels. Maybe Nicole Kidman can star as the person who pees on Pryor after he set himself on fire while freebasing. It’s just a thought.

Watch Inside Llewyn Davis Online Check out The Railway Man's UK trailer below for a slightly different take on this drama: When it comes to biopics about stand-up comedians, there are only a few that would actually make any sense, and Richard Pryor stands to be the most sensible option. (Though Bill Hicks is right behind him, trying to not catch on fire.) But just because it makes sense doesn’t mean it’s an easy task. The long-gestating Pryor pic gained ground some months back once Forest Whitaker attached himself as a producer, and now The Weinstein Company may have found just the high profile director they want in Lee Daniels, who is currently in talks to take over what will assumedly be titled Lee Daniels’ The Richard Pryor.

Watch Insidious Chapter 2 Online has debuted the film's first US trailer. While The Railway Man's previously released UK trailer focused mainly on Lomax's struggle to overcome the travesties of his past, this new trailer shares focus between the dark past that haunts Lomax, and his present relationship with his wife that spurns him to find catharsis. It's a compelling setup. He's not only fighting against memories of torture and dehumanization that have scarred his soul, but also he's fighting for a future with the woman he loves. But will it lead to murder?

Based on Lomax's bestselling autobiography Railway Man: A POW’s Searing Account of War, Brutality and Forgiveness, this A-lister fronted biopic follows the former POW's journey from his home in England to the camps in Thailand where he was once kept prisoner. From there he moves on to Japan for a fateful meeting with one of the officer's who made his life a living hell. Screenwriters Frank Cottrell Boyce and Andy Paterson have adapted Lomax's book into a screenplay that showed enough promise to score not only Firth and Kidman, but also Jeremy Irvine, Stellan Skarsgard, and Japanese movie star Hiroyuki Sanada, who recently had major roles in The Wolverine and 47 Ronin. Jonathan Teplitzky, whose previous credits include the romantic dramas Better Than Sex and Burning Man, directs.
