Make your own vanilla paste
Line a baking sheet with parchment.
Preheat oven to 200* F.
Split your vanilla beans in two.
Place on baking sheet do not let them touch each other.
Bake until completely dried and brittle roughly 30 minutes or so. (Check every 10 minutes)
Remove from oven and allow to cool completely.
Pulverize in spice/coffee grinder into a powder.
Add corn syrup one tablespoon at a time to the right consistency. You want it easy to scoop.
Use in sauces and batters to flavor, giving them a rich, true vanilla flavor and visual texture. Mixture will keep for a week in the refrigerator.
I made this using 4 vanilla beans and 4 tablespoons of light corn syrup.
