Glazed pumpkin donuts
3 1/2 cups flour
4 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
2 tsp. pumpkin pie spice
1 cup sugar
2 tbsp. butter
2 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 cup buttermilk
1 cup pumpkin puree
Glaze Ingredients
3 cups powdered sugar
1/2 cup buttermilk
1/2 tsp. vanilla
Stir together dry ingredients in one bowl and wet ingredients in another. In the dry ingredients, create a hole in the center and pour the wet ingredients in this. Stir together until well combined. Dust flour over your work area and roll the dough into a stick shape. It should be about ½ inch thick, as the dough will rise greatly once baked.
In a pan, heat canola or vegetable oil over medium heat. While heating, prepare your glaze by whisking together all ingredients. Once hot, slide your donuts in one by one and cook until golden on each side. As you take your donuts from the oil, dip them in the glaze and let cool.
