According to The Wrap, the British filmmaker is now attached to direct Alpha, a Navy SEAL thriller based on a script that was most recently rewritten by screenwriter Scott Frank. In the drama, which previously had writers David Benioff, Graham Roland and Carl Ellsworth holding the pen, a Navy SEAL is sent down to South America so that he can help train dogs that can be used in combat service. While serving his mission, however, the dogs' handler is mysteriously kidnapped. Left alone with the dogs and discovering that the handler is still alive, the soldier takes the pack and goes on the hunt to try and save him. Paramount Pictures and production company Parkes/MacDonald are teaming up on the project, which has evidently been in development for quite some time. According to The Wrap's sources, it was only back in March that the studio gave a thumbs up to the script and started moving forward with the film.

His other previous credits include episodes of The Walking Dead, Doctor Who, and Torchwood. The two stars join an ensemble cast that ranks as one of the best that Nolan has ever embled. In addition to McConaughey, the film is also set to star Anne Hathaway, Michael Caine, Jessica Chastain, Casey Affleck, Topher Grace, Ellen Burstyn, John Lithgow, Bill Irwin, Wes Bently, and child actors Timothee Chalamet and Mackenzie Foy. Paramount Pictures has announced that they will be releasing the film in theaters on November 7, 2014, and at CinemaCon earlier this year it was announced that the director will once again be employing the use IMAX cameras for some of the filming. At this time there isn't any clear information regarding when they are planning to go into production, but presumably they will start up before the end of the year. Director Martin Campbell's venture into the superhero genre didn't exactly pan out.
While Private Benjamin was a great movie, however, it isn’t the film I think of when Brennan’s name comes up. For me, she will always be Mrs. Peacock. As the gabby wife of a senator in Jonathan Lynn’s cult comedy classic Clue, Brennan’s Mrs. Peacock was the most memorable of any of the character’s media-spanning iterations. Re-introduce yourself to her in the clip below.Brennan also classed up a pair of highly underrated Robert Moore comedy mysteries, starring in 1976’s Murder by Death and 1978’s The Cheap Detective, both of which were written by Neil Simon. You’ll also remember her from George Roy Hill’s genius 1973 crime drama The Sting, from Peter Bogdanovich’s excellent 1971 drama The Last Picture Show, and as The Cat Lady in the mostly forgettable horror Jeepers Creepers. Her most notable feature appearances in recent years were in Miss Congeniality 2: Armed and Fabulous and The Amateurs. She also received a Razzie nomination for her work on 1998’s The New Adventures of Pippi Longstocking, but everyone is willing to forgive that particular mess.
