But now another important item?
Watch The Heat Online So while we treated it as a rumor when word of a three-film box set broke a few days ago, we felt pretty confident that the real deal would not be far behind. Now The Hollywood Reporter confirms that, yes, the "Ultimate Collector's Edition" of the trilogy will be available on Blu-ray on September 24, with all three of Nolan's Batman films-- Batman Begins, The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises-- included in the set. As you might guess, a bunch of extras are included with the set as well. There will be two brand-new featurettes, one of them about the impact of the trilogy and one of them, unbelievably, with Christopher Nolan and Superman director in conversation. Though you probably don't have to go far to find people who were influenced by The Dark Knight, the first featurette includes interviews with the likes of Guillermo del Toro, Michael Mann, Damon Lindelof, and unsurprisingly, Man of Steel director Zack Snyder.
Watch The Lone Ranger Online As it turns out the image that we dug up the other day was in fact legit, and the set includes three Hot Wheels models of Batman's three main vehicles (The Batmobile, Batpod and Batwing), Mondo art cards of the main villains from all of the films, and a 48-page book full of art from the three films. Of course, if can't wait for the September 24 release, you can already buy all three films together on Blu-ray for an incredibly reasonable $34. We're betting this new set will go for a lot more than that...but then again, it comes with some pretty neat toys.
Watch Despicable 2 Me Online If you're feeling nostalgic for Nolan's Gotham City-- can you believe it's only been a year sine The Dark Knight Rises-- you're joined by our Sean O'Connell, who is totally convinced that Nolan's vision of Batman will find its way into Justice League, even though Christian Bale has promised he won't play the role again. You're welcome to head over there and join the conversation-- after all, you still have several months to wait for this box set to take up all the rest of your free time.
Watch World War Z Online The above photo is the closest we get to seeing the actual maze, and I'm thinking we're seeing it from the outside. For an idea of what the inside of the maze might look like, check out the previously released concept art. MTV has two other photos from the film for you to check out, including one of Dylan O'Brien with a bandaged wrist, and another that gives us a better look at Theresa. Check them out here
Watch After Earth Online We still haven't heard any confirmation about what Fox might have planned for The Maze Runner at Comic Con, if anything, including whether or not director Wes Ball and/or some of the cast might be in attendance for a panel. But Dashner did Tweet recently that he would be there When I was a kid and read Lois Lowry's magnificent, award-winning novel The Giver for the first time, I immediately wanted to see someone make a film adaptation. Not only is it an absolutely brilliant work of dystopian fiction, it comes with its own fantastic built-in visual style, as most of the story's characters can only see in black and white. I was far from the only one who saw great potential for the book for the film world, as studios have been trying to adapt it since it came out in the early 90s - but now we are closer than ever to seeing it actually get made. The pieces of the puzzle have been taking their sweet time to come together, with Jeff Bridges signing on to both produce and star in the movie back in 2011, and director Philip Noyce coming aboard last November.
Watch Star Trek into Darkness Online Sitting on top of all the contents of the case was a pamphlet for Hannibal Chaus Kaiju Remedies, the shop owned by Ron Perlmans character in the del Toro film. First flipping the pamphlet over, I discovered a website address, KaijuRemedies.com, that redirected to the YouTube page where I discovered the viral video at the top of this post. Opening the pamphlet, I was greeted with not only an awesome drawing of Perlman as Chau. In addition to some diagrams, tt highlights eight different Kaiju parts as well as their healthy effects. Beneath the pamphlet is a copy of the graphic novel Pacific Rim: Tales From Year Zero, the prequel comic written by Pacific Rim co-screenwriter Travis Beacham. The book, which is already available at retailers, also includes a written introduction from del Toro. We live in a world in which you can buy a $300 collection of all the Harry Potter films, and the Indiana Jones movies can only be purchased in a set of four. Of course there was going to be a box set that would take advantage of the "collect 'em all!"
But now another important item has been checked off the to-do list: the production has found its lead. Brenton Thwaites, who hails from Australia and will soon get his breakout opportunity starring alongside Angelina Jolie in Disney's Maleficent, has reportedly risen above all of his competition and has landed the protagonist role in The Giver, according to The Wrap. The site says that some of Hollywood's brightest young acting talent went out for the role. including Kings of Summer's Nick Robinson, Mud's Tye Sheridan and Prisoners' Dylan Minnette, but that Thwaites ended up being the top choice. First released in 1993, the story is set in another world where all emotions, history and freedom has been expunged. Thwaites will play the role of Jonas, a young man who, when assigned a profession, is given the important yet painful job of being the society's Receiver of Memories. The new position sees him cut off from everyone he knows and he is mentored by the former Receiver of Memories, known as The Giver (Bridges). As Jonas and The Giver work together the young man's eyes are opened to the lies that the society is built upon.
