Cost effective gaming pc for my son (dirtyvest)

I'll spare you all the extended version about his big brother being a pr1ck... But if I was wanting a gaming pc suitable for an 11 year old that doesn't cost the earth, where would be a good place to start looking? Only the tower would be needed theoretic..
