Has anyone got insurance as a learner driver? (Irish Beast)

I short at 36 I still can't drive. I am doing lessons and progressing well but not at the rate I want (instructor availability mainly and get the feeling its being dragged out). Anyway I am sticking with him but I would like to do some learning on my own ..
