Dog 'N Suds Coney Sauce

1 pound ground beef
2 tablespoons prepared mustard
2 tablespoons granulated sugar
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1/4 teaspoon Tabasco sauce
1 small onion, chopped
2 tablespoons vinegar
1 tablespoon water
1/4 teaspoon celery seed
ketchup, as needed

In a salted skillet, brown ground beef with onion over medium heat, breaking up meat with a fork to crumble it fine. Drain off fat.

Add remaining ingredients, except ketchup. Mix well, then add enough ketchup to keep mixture loose. Simmer, partially covered, for 1 hour, adding ketchup as needed.



Greek Hot Dog Sauce

1 pound ground beef
1 teaspoon red pepper
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1 teaspoon dried basil
1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1 teaspoon chili powder
1 teaspoon garlic salt
1 teaspoon cumin powder
1 teaspoon salt
2 medium onions, diced small
1 can (15 ounce size) tomato sauce
15 ounces water
1 tablespoon prepared mustard

Brown ground beef and drain. Place all ingredients in saucepan and simmer for 1/2 to 2 hours. The longer it cooks, the better the flavor.




Albany Street Meat Sauce For Hot Dogs

6 tablespoons shortening, bacon fat or margarine
3 large onions, chopped fine
2 cloves garlic, chopped fine
1 pound ground beef
2 tablespoons chili powder
1 bay leaf, crumpled
1 teaspoon cumin
1 can consomme (not beef broth)
salt, to taste

In large pot, saute the onions and garlic in fat until soft. Mix hamburger, crumbled up, into onion mixture. Mix together the spices (chili powder, bay leaf and cumin) and add to pot. Stir well to mix. Add consomme and simmer until thick. Add salt to taste.



Texas Wiener Sauce

1 pound lean ground beef
6 ounces can tomato paste
6 beef bouillon cubes, DISSOLVED IN
3 cups hot water
1 fresh onion, chopped
OR
1 tablespoon dehydrated onion
1/2 tablespoon black pepper
1 tablespoon chili powder
1 tablespoon paprika
1 tablespoon dried oregano
1/2 tablespoon dried thyme
1/2 tablespoon dried marjoram
1 clove garlic, minced
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

Brown beef in large skillet. Stir in tomato paste and water-bouillon mixture. Add remaining ingredients; cover and simmer for one hour.




Hot Dog Meatless Coney Island Sauce

1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1/2 white onion
1 clove garlic
1 cup ketchup
1 tablespoon mustard
1 dash worcestershire sauce
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper

Preheat a small saucepan over medium heat with vegetable oil. Cut onion in a small dice then add to pan. Saute for 3 minutes.

Meanwhile, mince garlic then add garlic to onion and saute for another 2 minutes. Add ketchup, mustard, Worcestershire, and cayenne.

Bring to a simmer and continue cooking covered with a lid for an additional 10 minutes. Serve hot or cold as a topping for hot dogs.




Slow Cooker Sweet And Tangy Hot Dogs

32 ounces ketchup
1/4 package brown sugar
1 teaspoon dry mustard
1 1/2 tablespoon white vinegar
5 pounds hot dogs

Combine all ingredients in crock pot. Heat on high for 2 hours or on low for 4 hours.

Serve hot dogs with sauce on buns
