Scalloped Potato and Ham Bake [stove + microwave]


2/3 cup [160 mL] light salad dressing
4 tablespoons [35 g] flour
2 cups [500 mL] milk [1%]
1 cup [225 g] grated light Old Cheddar cheese
3 cups [750 mL] boiled potato slices
1/2 pound [227 g] thin ham slices
1 onion, thinly sliced



Preheat oven to 350°F [180°C].
Mix together salad dressing and flour; gently whisk in milk, until smooth.
Cook on the stove over medium heat stirring until thick, or microwave on 'HIGH' for 3 to 4 minutes, stirring once.
Stir in grated cheese, until smooth.
Spread 1/2 cup [125 mL] of cheese mixture over the bottom of a lightly greased 9-inch [23-cm] baking dish.
Alternately layer boiled potato, ham and onion slices.
Pour remaining cheese mixture all over onion slices.
Cover and bake into preheated oven, for 20 minutes.
Uncover and bake for 10 minutes longer, until lightly browned.
