Anybody been to ROME? Good hotel in city centre? any advice (sos)

Hi anybody got any tips, looking to go to rome with gf. Any recommendations for transport or renting bikes there and hotels in the city centre not too far away from the sights/buildings eg Colosseum etc Thanks...
