Amber ale wings

AMBER ALE WINGS

Makes 2 to 4 dozen

12 ounces amber ale

4 tablespoons butter

½ cup ketchup

¼ cup brown sugar

4 tablespoons hot sauce

2 teaspoons cayenne pepper

4 teaspoons low-sodium seasoned salt

1 teaspoon black pepper

2 teaspoons garlic powder

2 to 4 dozen wingettes (chicken wings that have been cut into drummers and flats)

Heat oven to 375 degrees.

In a saucepan over medium heat, combine all sauce ingredients. Simmer until sauce is well combined and reduces and thickens slightly, about 10 minutes.

Place wings in a baking dish that has been coated with nonstick spray. Pour sauce over wings. If preparing only 2 dozen wingettes, you won't need all sauce. Pour it to cover the wings about halfway and reserve the remainder on the stove to serve later as extra dipping sauce.

Bake wings for 35 to 45 minutes or until sauce is bubbly and chicken is cooked through, stirring once or twice during baking so that wings cook evenly and are well-coated with sauce.
