Pepperidge Farm Ginger Man Cookies
The perfect gingerbread cookie for the holidays! Take pleasure in the delicious simplicity of a cookie with just a few, humble ingredients, beautifully balanced for a classic cookie experience. A true celebration of a cookie's fundamentals real honest baking with only the best ingredients.
In large bowl, beat with electric mixer until smooth:
1 c. dark brown sugar - packed
3/4 c. sugar
1/2 c. Crisco
1/4 c. molasses
2 large eggs
1/2 t. vanilla extract
In separate bowl whisk your dry ingredients:
2 c. flour (may need a tablespoon or 2 more if too sticky
1 t. baking soda
1 t. baking powder
1 t. ground ginger
1 t. salt
1 t. ground cinnamon
1/4 t. ground cloves
Stir your dry ingredients into your creamed mixture. If the dough is too sticky - add the additional flour. Cover and refrigerate 1 hour.
When ready to roll and cut preheat oven to 300* F. and grease cookie sheet. Set aside.
On a heavily floured surface, roll a portion of the dough a bit thinner than 1/4-inch in thickness. Cut using the traditional gingerboy cutout or even trees, reindeer, etc. Transfer to prepared sheet.
If desired, sprinkle with red sugar crystals (used for cake decorating - or color of choice).
Bake 15 to 18 minutes.
For best results bake only one sheet of cookies at a time.
