2 ½ cups self-rising flour
1 Tbsp Baking powder
1 Tbsp sugar
3/8 cup shortening
1 cup buttermilk
Preheat oven to 500.
Mix the flour, salt, sugar, baking powder and shortening into fine crumbs. Next you will want to add buttermilk and water gradually until light and tender. For the perfect biscuit recipe you must knead well. Cut out and placed on greased baking sheet.
Bake until almost done then pull out and glaze each one with melted butter, then place back and finish baking.
If you want to do it the easy way just place a pat of butter on each biscuit and bake until done.
