Big Blue Tailgate Crew Baby Back Ribs with Homemade BBQ Sauce

BBQ Sauce:

2 c. Heinz Ketchup
2 c. strong black coffee
1 c. white vinegar
1 c. brown sugar
garlic powder
salt
Pepper
Hot pepper sauce

Ribs:

2 rack baby back ribs
garlic powder
salt
Black pepper
12 oz. dark beer

Directions

Prepare BBQ sauce: Combine all ingredients and cook BBQ sauce slowly over a low flame for a few hours (stirring often) until it reaches the desired thickness. This can be made a few days in advance.
Prepare ribs: Preheat oven to 300 degrees F. Rinse the ribs with cold water and pat them dry. Rub ribs with garlic powder, salt, pepper and any other desired spices to taste.
Place ribs in a pan and add beer. Move pan to oven and cook, covered, for 3 hours. (This part can be done up to one day in advance.)
On game day: Preheat grill to a high flame and grill the ribs for a couple of minutes on each side. Add BBQ sauce to each side and cook the ribs for another minute on each side (this is the first time you are using the BBQ sauce). Serve with extra BBQ sauce on the side.
