3 gig of data on 4g (fit for 50)

Do you think 3 gig of data would last a month this would be for a bit of Facebook snap chat the usual teenage usage.not really sure about 4g does it use more data than 3 g,I'm a bit of a dinosaur when it comes to technology so bit of advice needed please..
