PS4 backup - external hdd (westbelfastguy)

I'm going to back up my ps4 while i'm off and have a good bit of spare time. Am wondering, though, if I back it up to the same hdd that my laptop backup is on, will they both be on there or will the ps4 want to reformat the drive? Anyone done this?..
