Macy's "Taste of the Oak Grill." Steak

Ingredients:

4 6-8 ounce NY Stip or any other good cut of steak

2 Tablespoons olive oil

Salt and Pepper to taste

Directions:

Rub both sides of steak with olive oil and season heavily with salt and pepper. Grill to desired temperature, allow steak to rest a full five minutes before slicing.

Red Wine Sauce recipe

Ingredients:

1 Tablespoon olive oil

1 garlic clove minced

1 teaspoon minced shallot

¼ cup dry red wine

¼ cup beef stock

1 sprig of thyme

Directions:

Heat olive oil in a small pan and add shallots and garlic, cook until softened (about 1 minute). Add red wine and cook reducing by ½, then add beef stock and thyme sprig. Bring to a rolling boil and add butter in small batches whisking the whole time. Keep in a warm place.

For plating, place grilled green onion on the bottom of a large plate or shallow bowl, place mushroom cap upside on top of green onion. In a neat pile place farro risotto on top of mushroom cap, then ladle wine sauce around mushroom. Slice steak into three pieces and place around the plate.
