Why not reviewing these movies

Watch The Legend of Hercules Online There are immediate comparisons to be made about one of the most classic westerns ever made, which also happened to be numerically titled: John Sturges’ The Magnificent Seven, which was itself adapted from Akira Kurosawa’s near-perfect Seven Samurai. And those are exactly the movies that one would expect Tarantino to use as inspiration. Having taken on a different approach to the western with Django, it wouldn’t be surprising at all to see him to focus a film on a band of outlaws, or rugged lawmen, or whatever the "Eight" in question end up being. However it happens, I really hope he gets Val Kilmer involved to reprise his Doc Holliday role from Tombstone, having somehow survived everything while also gaining weight.

Watch American Hustle Online While no casting rumors have surfaced, one of the roles in the film was written for the amazing Christoph Waltz., who made a huge name for himself in Inglourious Basterds, Tarantino is reportedly reteaming with Django’s casting director Victoria Thomas for this film. I don’t think anyone would be surprised if Samuel L. Jackson made his way into this film at some point.

Watch Lone Survivor Online Below you can watch the polarizing director make his announcement to Jay Leno on The Tonight Show. Let us know in the comments what you guys think about the film, or "Rate The Hateful Eight" as it were. Tim Story directs and I think we can take a stroll through his career to make an educated guess as to where this latest will fall on the Tomatometer. It starts off pretty well with Barbershop (82%). And that’s pretty much the end of the good times following up a great first effort with Taxi (10%), Fantastic Four (27%), Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer (37%) and then bouncing back just a tad with Think Like a Man (53%). What does that tell us? Tim Story might have saved all his best work for the first effort. This latest movie will trend along with the rest of his career. Not funny, and not well received. The Rotten Watch for Ride Along is 34%

Watch The Wolf of Wall Street Online It was only a couple of months ago when he revealed his follow up to Django Unchained would be another western, though no particular plotline was mentioned. The name The Hateful Eight implies a narrative familiar to his films: a group of morally unkempt people get together to enact revenge on someone or something.

Watch The Secret Life of Walter Mitty Online "The Hateful Eight Will Set {omitted}{omitted}{omitted}{omitted} Straight," and possibly as early as this summer, which THR’s sources say is when the director wants to begin production, though that’s in the same unconfirmed state as the title. (Thankfully, THR sources are more reputable than many of the characters in Tarantino’s films.)

Watch The Hobbit The Desolation of Smaug Online August: Osage County expanded from 5 theaters to 900, and banked $7 million, enough to move into the number seven spot. That was a better result than Spike Jonze's Her. The dramatic comedy expanded to over 1,600 locations from just under 50, but only banked $5 million, just missing the top ten. Quentin Tarantino is a filmmaker who is known for making particular kinds of films, with adrenaline and testosterone always on full display, even when females are inciting the massive amounts of action. Another trait his movies share is a title with two words in it, assuming you count Kill Bill as one entire feature. If sources of sources of sources are indeed correct, Tarantino may buck this trend with his next film, the western that is now reportedly going under the name The Hateful Eight. Sure, all he would need to do is drop the article to make it a two-word title, but its current iteration would lend itself to some potentially awesome rhyme-time taglines.

Watch Her Online The Legend of Hercules was anything but legendary, debuting in fourth place with just $8 million against its $70 million budget. Are you ready for this year's Golden Globe awards? Will it be 12 Years a Slave, Gravity, Her or another awards-worthy film making speeches from the stage of the Beverly Hilton Sunday night? We'll be watching every step of the way, hoping our favorite shows, movies and actors manage to secure the favor of the Hollywood Foreign Press enough to snag an award or two. Join us, won't you?

Watch Spring Breakers Online Hart is a stereotypical moronic guy, with a stereotypical girlfriend who has a stereotypically "tough" older brother in Ice Cube who happens to be a cop. From the trailer, this movie appears to have come printed directly out of of some Hollywood movie-writing sweatshop in which small, underpaid children are forced to cut and paste pieces from other successful (or not) scripts and put them together into a new movie. Once this process is complete, the studio just hires some big names and calls it a day. If you have any other insight into how this movie was created I’d love to hear it. Lone Survivor opened wide this weekend after two weeks in small release, taking the top spot with little competition. With $38 million, it topped Frozen which added $15 million to its impressive $317 million total.

Watch Monster University Online That said, how interesting was it that 12 Years’s story still wasn’t the most interesting one in the minds of the voters, as Spike Jonze took home the Best Screenplay trophy for his script for Her. Is there something to be read into this? Maybe so, but we don’t want to be the guys saying a story about a relationship with an electronic voice is more important than the true story of a man who lost part of his adult life to unforgivable monstrosities. We will say, however, that Gravity's Best Picture Oscar might not be as much of a guarantee as some previously thought. Movie studios are starting to get back into the swing of things after a few slow weeks. That means the winter movies season is kicking into gear. And while these movies don’t look particularly good by any means, at least they don’t involve Hercules. This week we’ve got ride alongs, shadow recruits, the devil and nut jobs.

Just remember, I'm not reviewing these movies, but rather predicting where they'll end up on the Tomatometer. Let's take a look at what This Rotten Week has to offer. Thankfully, when I proposed to Mrs. Rotten Week, I wasn’t forced to jump through any bullying hoops from any of her family members. Frankly, they were just happy to have me around: looking awesome, being hilarious, bringing to the table a ton of relationship upside. It was smooth sailing through the courting process (love you baby!). But unfortunately it isn’t always this way, with varying forms of meatheady-ness coming through on the part of brothers, fathers, etc. wanting to ensure you "deserve" their sister, daughter, etc. So goes Kevin Hart’s problem in this flick.
