Cherry Nut Bread



Ingredients: 1 cup brown sugar, 2 tablespoons butter, 1 beaten egg, 2 cups flour, 1 teaspoon baking powder, 1/2 teaspoons salt, 1 small bottle of maraschino cherries, milk, 1/2 cup walnuts.



Method: Put cherries, cut in halves, in a measuring cup and fill up with milk, making one cup. Cream butter and sugar, adding beaten egg and cherries. Add sifted dry ingredients alternately with liquid juice from jar. Add walnuts. Mix well and place in greased bread pan. Let stand 20 minutes, then bake in 350°F oven for one hour or longer until it tests done.
