Beef and Sausage Chili





2 1/2 pounds lean ground beef

1 1/2 pounds Italian sausage, casing removed

2 large onions, chopped

2 garlic cloves, minced

2 cans (15-1/2 ounces each) dark red kidney beans, undrained

1 can (28 ounces) crushed tomatoes

1/4 cup chili powder

1 teaspoon ground cumin

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper







In a soup pot, brown ground beef, sausage, onions, and garlic over high heat 20 to 25 minutes, stirring frequently.



Add remaining ingredients; mix well and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
