Not being a fan of Zac Efron or Dave Franco or modern movies that heavily involve fraternity behavior, I had zero positive expectations for this film, but I’ll be damned if it doesn’t look just goofy enough to interest me.

Some of those jokes are relatively stupid, such as Mac (Rogen) and wife Kelly (Rose Byrne) literally humping a bush out of the ground, but I continue to find it oddly comforting that Efron and Franco are playing the straight man to Rogen and Byrne’s wildly erratic comedy act. I find myself hoping the Robert De Niro party lasts a while, and that Efron is allowed to deliver more crappy Taxi Driver impersonations. What has happened to me?!?

"I've got some family stuff I have to tend to. So when I wrap the show, I am going to go to England and see my people and then I have a film that I am doing with Guillermo [del Toro]. So I am going to go and do that and concentrate on the final seasons of Sons,” he said. “It's obviously going to be a really emotional time for us. We are like a family and have become very, very close and become dear friends to each other so it's going to be sad and finish up and say goodbye to everyone, but we've got like 13, maybe even a few more, episodes. There's rumor that we might do a couple of more episodes and do a little bit of an extended season next year, so we will see if that happens. It may or it may not. But I just want to finish that strong and go on to a new chapter of life.”
The basic gist of Neighbors involves happy parents Mac and Kelly getting their lives upended when a fraternity house sets up next door. When trying to act young and fit in with the frat backfires, they decide to take revenge. I can’t imagine there will be a lot of subtext involved, so it will undoubtedly just be a string of unfortunate circumstances in which frat head Teddy (Efron) and second banana Pete (Franco) make their neighbors’ lives a living hell in a series of escalating pranks and all around sabotage.
