Upcoming novel written by Adam Sternbergh

Watch Fast and Furious 6 Online Japanese director Takashi Miiki has been making films in his homeland since the late-80s and produced some absolutely amazing titles, including Audition, Ichi the Killer, and 13 Assassins. But after 22 years of directing his own features he is only now ready to make his English language debut. And the good news is that he has picked up one hell of a leading man for the project.

Watch The Hangover Part 3 Online Deadline has learned from sources that Miike is now in talks to direct The Outsider, a project based on an original script developed by John Linson and written by Andrew Baldwin, and has Tom Hardy attached to star. The story is set in post-World War II Japan and will find the Dark Knight Rises star playing an American G.I. who becomes a member of the notorious Japanese Yakuza. Joel Silver, who is best known for producing classics like Die Hard, Lethal Weapon and The Matrix, is on-board as well.

Watch Star Trek into Darkness Online The writer/director posted the above image to his WhoSay account earlier today along with the caption, "I've just hired a new gaffer for the shoot. Chewing on wires is good, right?" While it isn't explicit, one can assume that the raccoon is being used as a reference for the visual effects team as they try to nail down a final look for the character and the way that he moves. Considering that Rocket is known for standing on his back legs and using giant guns to take out enemies, I'm not sure how much good the live example is going to provide.

Watch After Earth Online We have already seen three concept art designs for Rocket Raccoon in Guardians of the Galaxy, but it doesn't seem like they've completely nailed it down yet. As you can see below, the first one, which was released during San Diego Comic Con last year, is much more cartoonish than the second and third, which came out a few months ago and are much more lifelike. Check them out. Chevy Chase's role in Hot Tub Time Machine wasn't a huge one, but as the wise and mysterious hot tub repairman, he was fairly crucial to the plot of the movie. And let's face it, a movie that takes us back to the '80s can only be enhanced by actors who left their mark in some of the decade's more memorable cinema, which made Chase a perfect fit for the comedy (see also: Crispin Glover and John Cusack). And it looks like he'll be returning for the sequel.

Watch Iron Man 3 Online Deadline confirms that Chase will reprise his role as the repairman for the follow-up to the 2010 comedy Hot Tub Time Machine. It's unclear whether or not Chase's role will be made bigger for the sequel. Chase joins fellow returners Rob Corddry, Craig Robinson and Clark Duke in the film. John Cusack will not be back for the sequel, however Adam Scott will be joining the film. With confirmation of Chase's return, that's four stars of NBC Thursday night comedies joining forces in one movie. Duke and Robinson were on The Office, Scott is on Parks and Rec, and up until last season, Chase was on Community. And actually, Corddry appeared on Community a couple of times, so that makes five... kind of.

Watch Warm Bodies Online Back in April, Craig Robinson said the film was going to start production in June, but from what Corddry told The Howard Stern Show last month (Via /Film), it may have begun shooting a bit sooner than that. During that interview, Corddry said the sequel will have the group heading to the future where they'll run into Scott's character, who plays Cusack's son. Most of the film will take place ten years into the future. But don't expect a lot of cool, futuristic effects. From the sound of it, the lower budget for the sequel won't allow for that. So the 2020's may look a lot like this decade in the movie. On the bright side, what the movie lacks in special effects, it's making up for in its great cast, which now includes Chevy Chase. In Tony Scott's excellent 2004 revenge thriller Man on Fire Denzel Washington proved that he can do a damn fine job of taking care of a little girl when charged with her protection, and he now plans to exercise those muscles again in the new thriller Shovel Ready.

Watch The Kings of Summer Online Linson is best known as an executive producer on the long-running FX series Sons of Anarchy, while Baldwin worked on Nicolas Winding Refn's upcoming remake of Logan's Run. After a rather crazy 2012, Hardy won't be appearing in theaters any any point this year, but has big plans for the future. In 2014 he has George Miller's Mad Max: Fury Road, Michaël R. Roskam's Animal Rescue, and (provided they start production on time) Daniel Espinosa's Child 44. Unfortunately none of those films has a release date at this present time, so as of now it's unknown when Hardy will be on the big screen again. Production on James Gunn's Guardians of the Galaxy is going to start rolling any day now, but there are some key missing members of the cast that we can't help but notice. One key role that has yet to find an actor is that of Rocket Raccoon. While the character itself will rendered through CGI - they aren't going to try to get away with a human in a costume - we still don't know who will be providing the voice. We have no idea when that information is going to be released, but for now Gunn is getting some help on-set for the character...albeit not from a human.

Deadline's sources have learned that the two-time Oscar winner has entered early negotiations to star in the upcoming feature, which is an adaptation of an upcoming novel written by journalist Adam Sternbergh. The story is set in a near-future landscape where everybody has left the real world behind and has completely immersed themselves in a digital fantasy world. Washington will play a contract killer living in New York City who is hired to "kill the daughter of a powerful, maniacal evangelist." The situation ends up taking a massive right turn, however, and the killer ends up becoming the girl's bodyguard. Sadly there doesn't seem to be any explanation for the title, but I hope that it turns out that Washington's character kills all of his targets with a shovel. The real answer to that question will be revealed when the book hits stores on January 14, 2014.
