Transformers producer Don Murphy?
Watch The Heat Online As THR points out, a movie based on the series was in the works in the 90s, but it never got past the script stage. Now it looks like it's back in the running for a feature film, and in this day and age of remakes, reboots and adaptations, the odds of it getting to the big screen seem strong. THR doesn't specify whether the plan is for a live-action or an animated film, but looking at Transformers, we might expect a live-action take on the story. Captain Planet may not have been airing new episodes anytime in the last decade or so, but in this age of nostalgia and the internet, out of sight doesn't mean out of mine. The character was brought back for a live-action follow-up story a couple years ago for a Funny Or Die video starring none other than Don Cheadle:
Watch Monsters University Online While we will have to wait a while to see if Russo's boasts are true, the movie not coming out until next year, he is working with one of the best casts that Marvel has assembled yet. In addition to Evans returning as Cap the film will also once again have Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow, Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes (this time playing for the bad guys as The Winter Soldier), Cobie Smulders as Maria Hill, Toby Jones as Arnim Zola, Dominic Cooper as Howard Stark, and Hayley Atwell as Peggy Carter. Newcomers to the franchise include Emily VanCamp as Agent 13, Anthony Mackie as The Falcon, Frank Grillo as Crossbones, Georges St-Pierre as Georges Batroc and Robert Redford as Agent Alexander Pierce (one of the head honchos of S.H.I.E.L.D.). Captain America: The First Avenger screenwriters Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely wrote the script. Little is known about the actual plot, but it has been said that the movie will have more of a political thriller vibe.
Watch World War Z Online We probably won't get to see a trailer for Captain America: The Winter Soldier until Thor: The Dark World is released in a few months, but at least for now we have some pretty kick ass concept art. Check it out in the gallery below. Video game developer Naughty Dog created one of the greatest gaming trilogies ever with their Uncharted series, despite the third entry not quite living up to its predecessors. (See also: Christopher Nolans Dark Knight trilogy.) Given its expansive and action-packed form of storytelling, along with the gorgeous locations, Uncharteds cinematic future seemed to be written in stone from the get-go. Yet here we are, and Nathan Drake still hasnt graced our theater screens.
Watch The Purge Online The movie will be coming out right at the start of the fall, and given its prestige appearance I would be surprised if it made its premiere at either the Toronto or Venice International Film Festivals. It's set to be released by Warner Bros. on September 20th, which will actually put it head-to-head with another potential Academy Awards contentder in Ron Howard's Rush. Given that both films will probably be targeting the same audience, don't be too surprised if one of the titles swerves at the last minutes and picks a new weekend in the fall. Did you love playing with Legos as a kid? Apparently at least one Warner Bros executive did. Not only does the studio have one film based on the property already in the pipeline, the decision makers are apparently ready to double down and up their investment to begin work on a completely separate Lego-related property.
Watch Fast and Furious 6 Online But this is not the end of the rumors, for This is the End directors Evan Goldberg and Seth Rogen recently revealed to IGN that Naughty Dog has approached the duo about adapting Uncharted themselves, and not just one time either. Its a strange choice I think, since none of the games feature Drake spending a good amount of game time stoned out of his mind.
Watch Star Trek into Darkness Online Theyre constantly asking me and Evan to make the Uncharted movie, Rogen said in the interview. Goldberg shared that theyve been asked multiple times over the last four years, but despite being big fans of the game, theyve never accepted the job because they cant figure out an original take on the material. Its just going to be Indiana Jones, Goldberg said. If we can figure out a way to make it not Indiana Jones, itd be awesome. Obviously the way to switch it up is making the character stoned out of his mind, but that probably wouldnt sit too well with a large portion of the gaming fanbase, nor would Drake be able to pull off some of the large-scale heroics hes synonymous with. Check out a video of the interview below.
Transformers producer Don Murphy. Today comes word that Sony Pictures is in final negotiations to acquire the rights to the adaptation, which - according to THR - would be produced by Murphy, along with Mark Gordon and Susan Montford. Captain Planet and the Planeteers aired for more than a hundred episodes from 1990 through 1996, and centered on a group of teens from different parts of the world, and each of whom was given a magic ring from Gaia, the spirit of the Earth. Each ring gave the teen a specific power, four of which had to do with control over elements of the earth (earth, fire, wind, water), while the fifth was Heart. They used these powers to protect the earth from destruction and environmental threats. And when a problem got too big for them to handle, they combined their powers to summon Captain Planet. The barely veiled message seemed to promote environmental friendliness to its young and impressionable audience in a way that also offered entertainment and a story kids wanted to watch, taking it beyond the basic and less subtle Give a message those of us who grew up in the 80s received.
